Google Optimize allows you to run tests on your website’s content to learn what works best for your visitors, including A/B, multivariate, and redirect tests.

In order to analyze the efficacy of these tests, you can use Mouseflow's suite of features to see just how each test performs.

Google Optimize Integration (Automatic setup)

Mouseflow has a ready made integration that will allow you to Integrate Google Optimize with your Mouseflow recordings by automatically setting variables on your Mouseflow sessions for your Optimize experiment, container, and combination IDs.

Filter for specific Optimize experiments and combinations running on your site by enabling this integration.

The automatic setup will have you up and running in less than 2 minutes. All you need to do is go to this page: https://app.mouseflow.com/websites/settings/integrations

Scroll down to the Marketing Section:

and click on the card named Google Optimize.

Here you simply need to toggle the radio button to enabled and the integration is up and running:

Once this is done you should begin seeing recordings tagged with your Google Optimize experiment ID, Container ID and Combination ID's.

Google Optimize Integration (Manual setup)

Simply embed some JavaScript in your Optimize experiments to tell Mouseflow which variant is running on the page.


Edit your experiment variant in the Visual Editor


Click on the Add Code button < > in the top-right corner

Select Global JavaScript and enter code to tag the variant in Mouseflow.

The code above reads:

window._mfq = window._mfq || [];
window._mfq.push(['tag','variant-1']);

You replace "variant-1" with a string to describe your own variant which you can later filter for in Mouseflow.
